Rosetta’s Inspiring the Artist Within
Inspiring Art for All Festival Saturday 6th December 2008
The annual Christmas Festival of the Rosetta Art Centre is changing this year.
The now well established event of the community’s cultural calendar is taking a new direction, representing the development and progression of the Rosetta Art Centre.
They are hosting the exciting new festival, called Inspiring Art for All, this December to celebrate the arts and inspire participation from the whole community.
In partnership with the Refugee & Arts Initiative and NewCEYS, the centre is organising a feast of free creative workshops and activities for all the family.
Among the activities on offer will be a photography workshop, tie-die fabrics workshop, a graffiti wall, pottery and postcard-painting workshop. There will also be a henna tattoo stand, carol singers, a steel drum band and a food debate stand where you can discuss nutrition and dietary issues as well as sample some vegan and vegetarian foods.
In the run up to the festival, the centre is holding a photography competition, from which selected entries will be exhibited at the festival and awards given to the winners.
The theme of the competition is Green Living and all entries should be submitted in a digital formal (jpeg) to info@RosettaArts.org stating the title of the picture and your name, with subject heading ‘Photography Competition’. Deadline for the entries are 1st December.
This exhibition will tour to other local centres, giving those that enter the chance to be exhibited in multiple locations.
Event will be held at Rosetta Art Centre, C/O Hamilton Road Centre, Hamilton Road, London E15 3AE
For more information see www.RosettaArts.or or call 0207 511 1117 and speak to Sanaz, Trisha or Dave.
